I don't know why I did it, but I just read a relatively popular Christian author's blog that irks me every time I read it. For the life of me, everytime I read that blog, I literally want to barf, because this woman seriously makes her "Christian ministry" all about her and the abuse she went through. That honestly makes me want to gag.
In fact, if I read one more blog post from a Christian author, in ministry full time, who writes books and profits off of their sexual abuse story, I honestly think I am going to barf. The reason I feel like barfing is because it just never ceases to amaze me how UN HEALED these chicks really are. There I said it.
I'll say it again. Anytime you're reading something online that tells you how "healed" someone is because they are sharing their journey with you and making it all about them and they are calling themselve a Christian....
Well, here's a news flash - their Christianity is Selfish and self centered and RARELY has anything to do with Jesus.
One can write a book all they want and they can blab on about how healed they are and spout off psychobabble all day long, but it doesn't mean they have a close walk with Jesus and are really saved.
In fact, having had the unfortune experience of talking to many Christian divas, it's quite astounding to me how blinded and clueless their followers are. The truth is their followers are sickos because they are still sickos.
There comes a time when you honestly need to shut your mouth and pray. There comes a time when your so called ministry needs to stop being about you and how abused you were half a century ago. Seriously.
Maybe if Christians or those in Christian ministry actually took the time to make their ministries Christ centered, they wouldn't walk in so much shame and depression.
However, in this lifetime, I don't expect that to stop anytime soon. You're going to see more and more of these self aggrandizing people just spout off about their "testimony" while they cash it in at the bank.
If you think I'm being too judgemental or harsh, I DARE YOU to find me one place in the bible where an encounter with Jesus become a ministry about that PERSON, and not Him. If you can do that I'll gladly retract this blog post.
I assure you though, you won't. When you follow these Christian whiners and their money making ministries, you're swallowing Americanized faith, that's not biblical.
Follow Jesus and Him alone. Stop worshiping people who claim they have a ministry because of Him. Most don't. In fact, very few do. It's time people get a clue, because being a Christian isn't about YOU or your abuse or sin you've engaged in and refuse to let go, it's about Christ who died for you so you can have eternal life and that life abundantly. I can assure you, none of these people have abundant lives. They are still miserable wretches, who need to encounter the Christ they say they know and clearly don't.
Thanks for your comment, John. Yah, there are quite a few blogs out there that are anti God because of abuse. It's sad.

Interesting, I know of a blog that sounds like the very thing you are saying. The blog is all about sexual abuse and takes on a Feministic attitude in the process. In fact I would dare to say that this lady is probably an anti god. Meaning she believe God exists but is so angry with her past and the 'Christians' in it that she is pushing them away all the way seeming to lift up God. I was banned from her twitter when I broke the feminists rules of comments.

Well, I have to say, Sue, that your comments make me laugh. Not because I find them funny, but because they are so typical and general. I know not one person who hasn't been hurt by anyone in the church or who isn't angry on some level. I think you're missing the whole point of my post, which is that most Christians in ministry are about THEMSELVES and not Christ. Even your initial comment proves that's true about you. You made sure that I know you're not into money and that your story supposedly helps other people. You also made a point to brag about working with victims of human trafficking. My honest question is why did you have to share that? Serious question.
Also, I am a little curious about how old my generation is because I'm older than I look.

I guess I was just concerned about your anger, your attack and your opinion on others that have ticked you off. I guess what I hear in your story is: You've been greatly hurt by "well-meaning" (or not) Christians. This may or may not be true, but that's the story I hear you posting here. Maybe even resentment; possibly someone in your past has hurt you deeply or never followed through with consistency of Christ-like actions towards you. And, my friend, this isn't psychobabble, because I'm surely not qualified for that. It's just that I hurt for young people who (for many valid reasons) have been discouraged by the supposed community of mature Christians, who have failed your generation greatly.

Hi Sue,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me. Glad to hear your analysis of my blog post. LOL! So tell me, what is MY story that you're hearing. I'd be interested in that.

This is great, Stacy. Very honest, vulnerable and real. I won't say I agree with all of it, but I'll give you a thumbs up for presenting your truth. And that's what blogging is all about anyway.
Ironically, I hear "your" story through out this entire post. And it actually makes me want to hear more about you and why you would publicly and passionately write this. This is by no means a slam or criticism.. I happen to agree with most you have said here. But MY truth is: I'm extremely interested in your story and how you are affected (and why) by what other Christians do or don't do. To say that "none of these people have abundant lives" would be an untruth. I, for one, live abundantly, but not in the category of money, houses, cars, things.. I have been through a lot of stuff, and maybe I've even appeared to present my story as ministry. But I do know this, I'm just a sign post pointing others to Jesus. And in order for this sign post to be relevant, coherent, kosher and theologically sound - and pointing to Jesus - my story has to be His story.
Keep writing and expressing your heart. It's good. But also do research on other's stories, where their truth is never cashing in on the gospel. I use funds that I receive to help abused women and girls internationally. It's out of the box thinking, but none of this would be possible if I didn't share (in humor and music) my miraculous story of what Christ has done in my life.
